Shopping
It goes without saying, Vietnam is one of the budget shopping capitals of the world. The quality of goods is better here than some other Asian countries. Here are some shopping spots to wet your appetite.
Saigon Centre
Saigon Centre is a three-level shopping mall inside a 25 level residential building. Located on Le Loi Boulevard, the shopping is considered more upscale by Vietnamese standards but tourists will find it very affordable.
The items sold in Saigon Centre include; clothing, electronics and handicrafts. It is also located across the road from Saigon Square. So if visiting, you will get two shopping spots for the price of one.
Saigon Square
Saigon Square is a two-level indoor shopping arcade with shops and market stalls selling all sorts of fashion clothing, sports shoes and goods, handbags and leather goods, accessories and jewellery.
It’s on the corner of Nam Ky Khoi and Le Loi in District 1, opposite the Saigon Centre and is a short walk to Ben Thanh Markets. Be aware, there are a lot of fake goods sold here. So, keep an eye out for quality.
Ben Thanh Market
Ben Thanh Market is an indoor shopping market located in District 1 at the intersection of Le Loi, Ham Ngh, Tan Hung and Le Lai streets. The market is large and sometimes hard to navigate but has an abundance of goods such as; brand clothing, luggage, electronics, handicrafts, textiles, art and other souvenirs. Good bargains here.

The Independence Palace also known as the Reunification Palace was the President’s workplace and home during the war.
The interior of the Independence Palace is of the 1970s era with original furniture and décor. There is even an underground war bunker.
War Remnants Museum
The War Remnants Museum is a treasure trove of Vietnam War artefacts. Outside you will find tanks, aircraft and artillery.
Themed rooms feature a collection of war relics and tell us stories about the war. A sobering and sombre experience.

The Vietnamese people are friendly, embracing souls. You’ll be welcomed with open arms. The Vietnamese love tourists.
Here a local is having a quick nap. Is he tired from a late night or sleeping on the job? You decide!
