Bloody Marys
Bloody Marys is a bar and grill where the rich and famous visit when in town. There is a “wall of fame” with the names of over 230 famous personalities who have visited.
Travellers from around the world come to visit for the chance to rub shoulders with the rich and famous while enjoying a refreshing drink and a delicious meal. On our visit, Bloody Marys was unfortunately closed, so no Hollywood stars to see this time.
Matira Beach
Matira beach wins as the best beach in Bora Bora and has been voted by some as the most beautiful beach in the world. With exquisite white sandy beach and emerald, turquoise water, its the perfect place to do a spot of snorkelling, sunbaking or just sit and admire the beauty.
A lot of the best hotels and resorts are located along the Matira beach strip. The ocean is a nice warm temperature year round and is reef free so safe to swim in without injuring yourself.
If you’re feeling brave you can walk out in low tide out to the outer reef but make sure you have your reef shoes handy.
Amanahune Bay
The lookout facing Amanahune Bay is a wonderful point to visit. To reach it you’ll need to go in 4WD up a steep dirt road to reach the summit.
The sometimes scary ride is worth it when you see the view at the top. You’ll see a fantastic colour explosion of emerald and turquoise water as far as the eye can see. Get your camera ready for some gorgeous photos that will look awesome on any social media feed.
Over water bungalows
Welcome to over water bungalow heaven!
Everywhere you look, there are over water bungalows with tourist snorkelling close by exploring the crystal clear lagoon and the water wildlife.
A lot of the more expensive hotels and resorts have their own bungalows. What a treat to enjoy, if you can pay the hefty price tag!
Mount Otemann
Mount Otemann is the highest point in Bora Bora. The mountain is an extinct volcano which is popular with hikers and tourists alike. Another great place for beautiful photos.
