Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong is Phuket’s largest temple. It’s the place to pray and pay your respects to the beloved monk founders.

A dress code applies, as with most temples. No bare shoulders and wear clothing that covers the body to below the knees. You can’t wear shoes either, so leave them outside. Also, no loud talking in the temple and don’t touch the golden statues.

After visiting the temples, check out the markets just a few metres away. You’ll find cheap clothing, souvenirs and other Thai goods.

Sellers only take cash payment, so make sure you have enough money or use the nearby ATM.
