Do you love brand names and designer goods at bargain prices? Then you’re in for a treat. Honolulu has two major retailers – Ross Dress for Less and Marshalls that take this concept to a new level.
Department stores order too many products, and designers make too many items. Store buyers from Ross and Marshalls swoop in to negotiate a deal for these goods and the winner is you, the customer. Prices are up to 60% off and steady stock turnover means you’ll be getting the latest trends.

Ross Dress for Less
“The best brands, the latest fashions for everyone. All at 20% to 60% off department store prices” is Ross Dress for Less motto.
Ross believe in a “no frills” approach with no window dressing, mannequins or fancy set ups like other stores. This means they pass on huge savings to customers.
They don’t have an extensive inventory of any one item (usually have one offs in stock). However, they have hundreds of different brands and items available. So if you find something you love, buy it immediately because when you come back, it may be gone.
Ross sort fashion and goods into categories. For example, sportswear in the one area with brands such as Nike, Reebok, Puma, ASIC, Adidas and more. It’ll take you longer to go through everything in the store, but it is time well spent.
If you are visiting the Ross store at Ala Moana Center on a Monday this is markdown day which means even bigger discounts. If you have your eye on that handbag or pair of shoes, why not ask a staff member to mark it down for you.
Ross also have a weekly shopping day on Tuesdays where they offer an extra 10% off purchases for anyone over 55 years old.
Ross Dress for Less has locations throughout Waikiki, including a large store at the Ala Moana Center.
Marshalls
“Get the good stuff. We hustle for deals so you don’t have to” is Marshall’s motto. Like Ross, it has brand name and designer goods at 20-60% off department store prices.
Marshalls has a similar store layout to Ross. With a low-cost model, they pass on huge savings to the customer.
Marshalls also sort goods into categories with several brand names in the one area.
If you are visiting Ala Moana Center, you can visit these two bargain powerhouses in the one location.
Be ready to get some great bargains.
