Shopping in Toronto is a big deal. With temperatures plummeting into single figures for part of the year, shopping makes for the perfect indoor activity. So, where are the 5 cheapest places for the best bargains for Toronto shopping?

Eaton Centre

CF Toronto Eaton Centre

This sprawling mall will have you mesmerised. It’s on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto and is huge. All your favourite stores are under one roof.

Most world famous retail stores have a presence in the mall. The mall has a mixture of lower and high-priced items, so will cater to every shopper’s taste and budget.

It also has a massive food court underground to go to when you’re feeling hungry. If you need to take the subway, you can also do this at the mall.

If you only have limited time in Toronto, this shopping mall is a must visit.

Aura Concourse Shopping Mall

Aura Concourse Shopping Mall is a bargain hunter’s destination. Near the Eaton Centre, one of its draw cards is the flagship store Marshalls.

Marshalls is in the same category as other well known discount department stores, such as Ross Dress for Less and TK Maxx. Items include – clothing, sports gear and shoes, handbags, leather accessories, home wear, beauty and more.

Because the items in the store are all together, you will need some time to sift through them. But don’t let this deter you. There are bargains to be had with big name brands galore, so take the time to go through everything.

Tip – if you like something buy it immediately. Because if you come back later, it might be gone.

Yonge Street

Yonge Street is a mecca for bargain shoppers. Being the longest street in the world, shopping goes for blocks and blocks. The street is home to 600 stores, including retail chain stores, discount stores, and bargain shops.

Tip – If you need to restock on beauty products, make sure you check out Rexall pharmacy and drugstore on Yonge Street. I found my usual products here for rock-bottom prices.

Toronto Premium Outlets

Toronto Premium Outlets is the go to place if you like outlet shopping.

It’s like most premium outlets worldwide and sells items, usually old season goods for discounts of up to 65% off recommended retail price (RRP). Your most loved famous brands are here, ranging from cheap to more expensive. Ideal place to go to if you have a long layover at the airport between flights.

Location: Halton Hills near Mississauga (Toronto Airport).


St Lawrence Markets

If you’re downtown, head to St Lawrence Market. It’s the local and most popular flea and street market.

Main goods sold are: food, souvenirs, maple syrup and usual market goods.

There are two sections in the market: North and South. Markets are closed on Mondays but open every other day of the week.

Location: Front East Street, Toronto.
